Have you ever wondered about the transformation happening around us??
I hope you would, if you are one from a swarm of geeks living here today. The world is witnessing huge transformation and seeing some of the advanced technologies known to us by theory come into life.
Don't worry if you are startled by the above statement!!
The latest buzz are the smart voice assistants.
How has the world changed drastically?? From having a personal secretary to make a note and get things done for you to making your phone a virtual (smart) assistant organize, notify, and keep you updated about every day to day activities.
Huge transformation there👍👍 COOL!!
The underlying resource pulling the chords for transformation is the Internet. Internet has transformed the way we understand technology. It has scaled technology on both horizontal and vertical fronts opening up diverse path-breaking opportunities to work on simplifying user experience.
One such opportunity lies in the space of Internet of Things. The term "Connected World" is yet to be fully realized. But, we are on the right path to reach the destination.
All the technologies are now coming together to form a conglomerate to realize the dream of the connected world.
The interplay between cloud, artificial intelligence and database is the closest shot we have towards the target.
Technology giants Amazon, Apple, Google and Microsoft are pushing their limits to get to that point. The smartest weapon they all possess in common are their smart assistants namely Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant and Cortona.
The race has tightened significantly with all of them prioritizing the need to help their assistants simplify user activities. This exact race will also help them conquer the quest for the next big thing, i.e. the Internet of Things.
Though Amazon stands one or two steps ahead among the four in their pursuit, one cannot decide the race just yet. As Amazon sees Alexa as their magic wand to light up your home and do much more than just organize your calendar or play music.
Their competitive and corporate strategy to link up with other third party product developers seems to be working. Amazon has been seeing things ahead of its time and exploiting the opportunities lying in front of them.
Growth of Amazon E-Commerce, Amazon Cloud (Amazon Web Services), and now Amazon Alexa are sheer successes of Jeff Bezos and team.
No wonder they hold major share in all of their businesses with Alexa as their new king pin. Alexa now holds about 60-70% market share in sales with their current devices line up (Echo Tap, Dot, Show, Echo, Echo Plus).

The recent release into the Indian market and plans to expand into other regions is a master stroke for its competitors trying to catch up.
It is indeed interesting to see how the race unfolds as we still have many laps left ahead in the time.
The battle has begun and it seems Amazon is holding the baton for now with others following suit.
