But, that's not the case with Hilde, she is now a Homicide reporter.
Well, the fact sends shivers down the spine for sure. But we have to accept her capabilities and the fact that she is a Homicide reporter at the tender age of 9. She runs her own website and the Newspaper Orange Street News.
She proudly mentions at the top right corner of her website, "The Only Newspaper devoted to Selinsgrove."
She even asks, "Vandalism on your block?? OSN will investigate."
This is such a ground-breaking story. A nine year old willing to work and chase serious troublers and murderers.
This is what happened:
She got to know that a Homicide has taken place, which was a few blocks away from her house. She reached the spot, analyzed the perimeter and investigated the surrounding neighbours and published the facts in her newspaper with the headline:
"EXCLUSIVE: MURDER ON NINTH STREET"
And all this, even before the crime got attention of Corporate media analysts.
Due to the viral outreach of this story, Hilde received criticism from most parents and other Media corporates. Most people who heard of the story slammed Hilde and her parents, letting her pursue such dreams at such gentle age.
After all the criticism, Hilde responded saying, I really worked hard gathering the facts about the crime. And " It kind of gets me angry because, just bacause I'm 9 doesn't mean I can't do a great story, It doesn't mean I can't be a reporter."
She aspires to be a journalist and that's what she is doing now. So, leaving all the critics behind, let's appreciate her for what she is doing.
