Master Entrepreneur Elon Musk's SpaceX created history on Tuesday 22nd December 2015, after achieving its vertical landing of the Falcon9 Rocket on the land. SpaceX Rocket returned back successfully to the launch pad after 10 minutes of its takeoff. The rocket was carrying ORBCOMM's satellites that will provide machine-to-machine messaging services on the ground -such as between retailers and shipping containers.
The project was a $200million valued deployment. The main frame of the rocket returned back after releasing the upper boosters to place the satellites in the orbit that was about 800 kilometers above the Earth.
This feat is vital for space travel, as the costs for launching the rockets are minimised with reuse of the same rocket. Furthermore, it would propel the growth of SpaceX in the competitive private space Industry. This mission came on a success note after its previous launching mission failed after an error in the fuel section. The last space launch for SpaceX took place on June 28, it was a failure when a Falcon9 rocket exploded shortly after launch during a space station cargo run for NASA.
Elon Musk tweeted about the achievement saying "Welcome back, Baby!."
Elon Musk also serves as the head of Tesla Motors.
Amazon's CEO and Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos tweeted saying, "Welcome to the club."
Nasa also applauded the effort from SpaceX and tweeted,
Congratulations @SpaceX on your successful vertical landing of the first stage back on Earth!
Stay tuned for more updates.
