The Camera is one major change in the S7 and S7edge. It features dual pixel 12MP camera unlike the 16-megapixel camera of S6. Though Samsung says, it is tweaked to give better low-light images with larger pixels. They let in 56% more light than the former S6. Samsung also went on to say that, the camera focuses three times faster and each of its 12 million pixels will act as focus pixels, which Canon uses in some of its DSLR cameras.

Both the S7 and S7 edge run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor in the US. Though some regions still use Exynos processors. The S7 and S7edge both come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and Touchwiz UI. The mobiles have 4GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage with expandable memory options which S6 didn't have. S7 and S7edge also has an Always on display. Always on display puts the phone awake all the time displaying time, calendar or an image. Although it shuts off if it's put in a closed space like in a bag or pocket.
